Black Cherry Vanilla Coke

I'm not one for all these wacky variations on soda, the only one I'm really a fan of is Diet Coke w/Splenda. I had heard about this project a while ago but this was the first time I'd encountered the product, and being the sucker I am, bought a 20oz'er.

I was surprised with Black Cherry Vanilla Coke (BCVC). The vanilla flavor was present, but not too overbearing, as was the case with Vanilla Coke. The first hint of the black cherry is the scent as you raise the chosen vessel to imbibe, but the cherry mixes nicely with the vanilla to present a pleasant combination of flavors to the palate. Some cherry+vanilla combinations *cough*CVDP*cough* have an almost medicinal quality to them, and not good medicine, either. BCVC is a solid addition to the flavored Coke lineup and I can see it being a hit with the younger crowd, as well as with those 'of age' to use as a mixer.
