Among the names already speculated as possible replacements for Mularkey are former New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett and recently fired Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell. Both men served on Buffalo coaching staffs in the past. Haslett has strong ties to Bills assistant general manager Tom Modrak and some current and past players have already begun lobbying for Cottrell to be interviewed.

What the hell would he do at OU? It's not like he's going to be a position coach, and that's the only opening we have.

But will Cotrell be bringing in some fresh talent to assist with recruiting?
