I have an image I received in an e-mail that's an animated .bmp

How do I get that posted here?

I have an image...that's an animated .bmp

I don't think there is such a beast.

I believe it has to be in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format to post it here so you'll need to convert it. GIF supports animation, JPEG does not, and I'm not sure about PNG.

imageshack won't do it for you?

i think they convert .bmp to .png automatically though

i think i saw an animated .jpg yesterday... i thought it was kinda funny

I just say it's a bmp because when I try and save it, that's the only option I'm given. I don't know how to convert it.

And I tried to save it and upload it at imageshack, but it just saves one image, no animation, not as funny.

This is why it's better to send pictures as attachments, then you have the original and don't have to convert anything. HTML e-mail is the debil.

When you save it as a BMP from the e-mail you're going to lose the animation.

Try to view the source code for the email and find the img tags . . . you might be able to grab it that way.

i was able to avert this issue by forwarding to my Yahoo! account and getting the image from there

I tried that, and it showed it as a .gif attachment that when I opened was only one image, no animation. The only way I could see the animation was through Outlook.

outlook only lets you save as .bmp
never really looked into why.

you can't have an animated .bmp, and i don't think you can do it with a jpeg either
