Wednesday was the 24th consecutive day with measurable rain in Seattle.

This ties it for the third-longest all-time rainy streak in Seattle. Here's the Top 5 rainiest streaks:

#2 - 25 days from Jan. 28 - Feb. 21, 1961
#3 - 24 days from Nov. 10 - Dec. 3, 1953
#3 tie - 24 days from Dec. 19, 2005 - Jan. 11, 2006 (current)
#5 - 22 days from Dec. 18, 1964 - Jan. 8, 1965
Amount of rain during streak as of 9 a.m. Wednesday: 11.35". That's approaching a third of our annual rainfall total.

So that's where our precipitation has gone! :( Couldn't you just shoo it in Arizona's direction? Please?

I'm sure everybody in Illinois south of Chicago would appreciate it. Many a bored farmer around here with the drought we had this last summer. Crops took a big hit.

People who choose to live in Seattle shouldn't complain about rain.

And people who choose live in Arizona shouldn't complain about the lack thereof.

i refuse to call what we get most days rain -its more like hovering fog. this however has been rain. the rivers around me are out of their banks and they say we've got another week of downpours on their way. most of the bridges on my way to work are shut down because of flooding making my commute over 2 hours...

The first time I was in Seattle some tour guide type person was giving her spiel and said that it's just a myth that it rains a lot there. Dallas even gets more rain that Seattle, she said.

Except in Dallas in rains 30 days a year and in Seattle it rains 300 days a year. :D

I loved it when I lived up in the Seattle area. I like the rain and don't really like the sun very much. So of course I moved to Phoenix. :O

jkm, my wife is trying to convince me to move the family to Bellingham in three years when I'm done with my fellowship. She grew up there and hates the rain, so Lord knows what she's thinking.

I hate the 'rain' there when it's just enough to make it so you have to intermittently turn the wipers on.

It's snowed three or four times this winter already--in Norman even.

We have had snow twice this winter........not enough to even turn the driveway white. It's just been cold enough to get bigger gas bills, and none of the beauty of the snow.
