any of you use their security software?
I'm asking because I've recently been getting the security warning/scan for-pop ups and did the scan yesterday. said there's all kinds of nasties on my pc.
is it legit or just a ploy to give them some more coin?
I mean I have my own security scanning type stuff already.:eddie:

If mozilla had security software, it would be free.

well I downloaded the scanner for free, and when it was time to clean/delete they wanted a credit card #.

Just use the Microsoft anti-spyware. It's (scarily) about the best one out there.

This sounds like spyware itself, or at least some kind of scam.

I think you've done something wrong.
Install both of the programs RacerX linked to and tell us what THEY say.

ok, I downloaded the microsoft anti-spyware and did a scan with it. I now have 3 pretty good scans.
and I didn't do anything wrong. the original was a Mozilla pop-up. I loaded it and apparently they want $9.95 for their service. just a money making deal.
kinda like what they had in France.

I'm pretty sure this had nothing to do with Mozilla or Firefox. It sounds like a pop-up ad. I've seen those before, the ones that look like a Windows dialog box.

you may be right, I've seen them too but I originally thought it was branded by Mozilla. either way it's ghandi now.

A web site can determine which browser you are using in order to target you with a specific pop-up. Them's tricky sonsabitches.
