View Full Version : Just doubled the speed of my wireless router.

Innerweb connection has been acting funny today. Anyway, now I open web pages and it's instantaneous. Crazy. Also, I added 3 firewire ports and a DVD burner. Been a pretty good day for computer surgery.

Better make sure the bits your using can handle the higher speeds, otherwise it may burn the wood.

Our 300+ lb. Shop teacher accidently demonstrated a kickback when showing us the table saw. He looked like he took a cannonball to the guts.

Does anyone know of a way to boost signal strength? I did my home in wireless but when i use my laptop upstiars (my room, bathroom etc. ) it goes slow. Whereas when i use it downstairs (where the router is) its almost as fast as a hard line.

Yeah, add a wireless access point (also called a "bridge") upstairs. Newegg.com has them - they run anywhere from $50 to $400 depending on how heavy a load they can handle.
