AM 1430 was saying earlier that the donation was estimated to be in the $200 - $250 million range. Maybe he'll give it to us instead. :D

this is probably one of those deals where they don't get it until he is dead, but he may outlive Burns.

Maybe they are going to just use eminant domaine and take all of Stillwater so OSU can have even better sports facilities. They sure bungled it with the community the first time around.

OSU To Announce Historic Gift On Tuesday

By OSU Media Relations

Date: Jan 9, 2006

In what is characterized as the "single largest donation" ever to an NCAA collegiate athletic program, Oklahoma State University officials are preparing to announce a record-setting gift which, in terms of scope and magnitude, will propel Oklahoma State's ambitious vision to build a world class athletic complex unrivaled in stature and size closer to reality.

Details on the gift and its impact to elevate Oklahoma State's tradition-rich athletic program to a new level of national prominence and competitiveness in all sports will be presented at the press announcement.

How about donating a couple of bucks to the academics.....

I seriously doubt most pokes even understand how little 100-200 million will stretch these days.

It's PROBABLY not a good comparison, but this seems like a tainted contribution-like getting a donation from George Soros. You know it will be intended for no good purpose...or, maybe like a gift from Phil Donahue for Notre Dame. Oh, my God. Did I really say that? Deepest condolences to anyone who loses their lunch at that thought.

What in the wide wide world of sports is a goin' on here? We hired you boys to get a little stadium built, not dance around here like a bunch of Kansas City faggots!

Geez, talk about Sooner envy. So, are they thinkin' that 250 million is going to equate to a winning football season every once in a while?

And...If they keep adding onto Gallagher Iba Arena, it'll soon like like the Leaning Tower Of Pisa.

I seriously doubt most pokes even understand how little 100-200 million will stretch these days.

Imagine this. Figure out who the best in the world is in each discipline taught at your university. Then go out and approach these very best professors in each discipline and offer him or her a million dollars to sign a five year contract to teach at your university. If, after the first five, if he or she works out and the prof is indeed someone you want to keep, offer them another million to sign up for five more.

T. Boone's donation could finance that.

I just hate to see all that money being p1ssed away. oSu will never, evar, be taken seriously nationally, considered anything but second-fiddle in Oklahoma and a D1 "also-ran," -- unless Pickens can bribe the NCAA into letting him buy and play players from the NFL or something. Heck, most years, I wonder why the heck they even got invited to the Big XII. I'd trade them for Arkansas in a heartbeat.

There was a mention that his contribution could endow some athletic scholarships. I don't know what that does, exactly but it was mentioned. Of course, that's the same place I head $200 - $250 million so who knows? The Don King inside information specail was a little generous it's sounding like.

However....we shouldn't knock the donation. It's big....it was something like this that got K-State out of the ****ter remember. OU would be happy as hell to get it and it can only help aggy....unfortunately.

Chad May and Kevin Lockett were donated to KSU?

If I remember correctly, some lottery winner donated a big chunk of change to KSU which allowed them to improve their facilities. I thought that donation was largely acknowledged as one of the events that allowed them to escape the D-1 gutter.

Anything that is good for the sheep humpers isn't good for us, and in turn, the rest of the state.

Did you cheer for Texas, too? :mack:

i was pleased that the usc streak was broken. but, that didn't happen till after the game.
