With the Big 3 currently trying to revive the muscle car, I was just curious how many poster have or will have classic car collections. My parents are big collectors, and at some point the collection passes to me and step-siblings. I am slated to get a 1967 Impala Convertable, and a 1974 Corvette w/454. I also would like to add a 79 Forumla Firebird like my dad had. I also would like a IH Scout and a Roadrunner at some point, and maybe a Plymouth Gold Duster.

I'll pass on the muscle car and go with the muscle truck. Just like this:

Had a buddy in HS that fixed up a '71 Ford Army truck. That thing was a freaking beast.

Our son, who just graduated from OU in December, has a 1968 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible. You can hear him coming from two blocks away. Me, I have a 1976 VW Beetle Convertible. (mini-muscle :D)

Exactly. I miss my '69 :(

Every time this thread subject comes up, I just gotta post a pic of my dream car.

1969 Mustang Mach 1, 428 SCJ w/Drag Pack, 4 speed close ratio, 3:91 traction lock, chin spoiler, magnum 500 wheels, rear window slat, hood pins, in Indian Summer red.

I will have one...eventually. :)

I was in my sophomore year of college and had a chance at a 65 Impala convert for $1,500. It ran strong, had a new top and the interior was in very good shape. Needed some cosmetics, but no major body work. Not buying that was the worst advice ever from my mom. She convinced me that I needed to save my money.

You could take everything off a '78 Lincoln Versailles to end up with 4 wheel disk brakes. The axle was a little shorter so you could put wider tires on. Straight bolt on swap. Front and rear.

Mine wasn't stock though. I had a '70 stripe on the hood and rear with Mach 1 goodies.
I miss that car terribly.

Not exactly muscle cars, but I have a 57 Chevy, LT1, w/ 700R4 tranny, and a 36 Ford Street Rod.
Have had a 57 T-Bird, two 67 Vettes. Both with 427's. A 64 Pontiac Catalina with a 389 w/3-two barrel carbs and 3-speed stick. Another 57 Chevy.............damn, Im lucky to still be alive come to think of it.

But, I had more sex in my 74 Pinto station wagon that my Dad gave me when one of my ex's took about everything else I had.

Heh. I had one of those only mine wasn't a King Cobra. I got teased since it was "a pinto with a hood scoop", but many those those who did saw my tail lights on Adkins Hill Rd. or 10 mile flats. Of course it wasn't even close to stock. :D

SAS, the '69 fastback I had was pretty rare. It was one of the last thousand '69's built & since there was a shortage of 351 Windsors at the time, mine was built with the 351 Cleveland 4V. I checked the codes & the vin had the correct #'s for the Cleveland. It was sweet, but it got stolen. :(

I bought mine from a dude that used to get drunk and lose it on country roads.

He'd get a few freinds and go looking for it when he sobered up. Paid $250 for it and it wasn't in that bad for a car at that price. Changed it from emerald green to white and wished I hadn't after becoming more of an enthusiast.
