Not the deviled ham but the golden-haired she-idol who inspired me to watch every episode of AI, which is in itself fairly remarkable.

My trusting wife gave me the new Carrie cd and as I listened to it on my superbly crafted Grand Am audio system this morning I realised this girl is the real deal - the Vince Young of past Idols.

This imaginary barely legal has a tremendous set of pipes.
She can hold a note longer than I can belch, and that's a long time.

My woman, I could see a tinge of jealousy in her eye as I unveiled Carrie's fold-out poster and sucked back my drool.

She said she (beloved Carrie) sings too nasaly and she can't stand her.
I reminded her that a certain Celin Deion (sp?) also has a bit of nose in her voice but it hasn't hurt her career none.

I don't like country music but this is a good album.
It does me good to see a common Okie kick arse on a global scale.
It inspires me to get off the couch and use my meager talents to achieve more.
Watch out you Nashville ho's, there's a new sherriff in town.
Break me off a piece of that kit kat bar.
If you don't like her you are retarded.

She had just had the orgasm of a lifetime.

They did some funky things to her hair and makeup thru the season as well.

Cut her some slack.

Actually, Carrie is a very good singer, but whorn Kelly Clarkson has the best voice of all idol winners(:) 'cept maybe Fantasia).

What? She wasn't barefoot OR pregnant??

That's what I meant. This song cracks me up.

She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way to fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight

Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on

Oh, Jesus take the wheel
Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, why, oh

Okay look.

It's a song about second chances and the realization of a wasted life.

For country it's about right but I doubt she wrote it.

Check out "Before He Cheats".

Yikes!

There is a big long article in Oklahoma Today magazine about her. She was "Oklahoman of the year" this year in the mag(which kind of hit me the wrong way when Fern Holland was last years vote)but thats another topic.
It said that her parents where cattle farmers but she was a vegetarian because she loved animals so much.

Carrie passes the first part of the Hollywood Mentality test. Wonder if she is "against the war, but supports the troops"? Not that it really matters. She's just a singer.

I pray that she isn't. That would put her down several points, with her being another Eastern Oklahoman like myself.

I worry little about her world view.

They asked her if she had seen any stars in Hollywood and she said it had been too cloudy at night.

Why do you people care where the hell she stands on issues like this? Just listen to her sing, or don't...

People bitch about celebrities coming out on issues, but get ****ed when it's not the right side.

They're not there to be the voice of the people, and if you put much stock into what they say, then you're the idiot. They're friggin celebrities. They are not students of government or social issues.

There, that being said. She is hot and always a place to sit.

The only reason they speak out against **** is because they believe that people really care what they have to say...which, sadly, is the case. People put more stock into what they are saying because they are too lazy to do any research on their own about an issue.

Carrie Underwood can be I deleted the rest of this sentence on my own accord.

The first time I heard this song, I was with the operations manager for Cox Radio. I asked him, "Can you please kick the *** of whoever is in charge of ruining Carrie's career?" He nodded.

The song sucks, and "low on faith and gasoline" is just about the lamest line in the history of the English language. Meanwhile, while it has appeal to a certain audience, the song can turn off a large chunk of the middle of the road folks who don't really want or need witnessin' with their morning drive. It was the wrong song to release as a follow-up to "Inside Your Heaven".

Argh. She seems like such a nice kid.

I don't think it's ruining her career exactly. The song is #1 on the country charts, and its popularity is a big reason her album has been in the top 10 every week since its release.
