though against pretty weak competition. clarion and fullerton are really down this year. as for utah valley state........ i think gdc, micco, and i could give them a run for their money.

jake hagar gets OW for 2 falls in 2 matches (though hazewinkle was 3 for 3)

the NWCA's will be a big step up in class next weekend. i'm not sure of the format at that meet, but all the usual suspects are there (iowa, osu, mich, minnesota, iowa st., nebbish, etc.)

in other wrestling news, i read that OCU will field a wrestling team in 2006-07.

i heard coach spates on the radio this a.m. OU drew cornell (12th nationally) and likely c. michigan (7th nationally) if they beat cornell. they're seeded 3rd, so at least the faggies are on the other side of the bracket.

first bout v. cornell will be hazewinkle vs. #5 ranked and undefeated troy nickerson from cornell.

I still haven't read any recruiting, other than what Micco posted.

Hager was wrestler of the month or week.

My dad STILL is upset about us getting Eugene. He says he'll be a good one for OU. I always liked the Shelton's. They're a good wrestling family.

And yes, even though I'm considerably above my playing weight, I think I can take any Utah State wrestler. Especially their HWT as we are probably close to the same weight. :D

Also, went to the OSU boards.

J.Carl Guymon, ex-OSU play by play man and wrestling afficianado, says if you go by rankings, OU comes out in second behind OSU.

Not bad.
