I enjoyed myself a little too much over the holidays and need to get down a little.

I need to trim off about 5-10 holiday pounds, but it's not like an official resolution or anything. I was surprised at the absence of a fat jihad thread this year.

I'm on one, but I don't have a publicity department like bri.

In fact, I'm off to the gym here in a minute. I'm getting old, hard to get motivated sometimes.

I decreed my jihad on thursday. I worked out thursday and friday and am taking the weekend off to let the soreness wear off.

I'm at 286 and I want to get back down to the 210-220 range before the end of the year.

when the "soreness" hits, is the best time to keep working out. even if you only do half of your planned workout.

i'm actually fairly content this year. If i exercise 3-5 times a week i'm not worried.

just got back from a 4 mile hike in the hills.

c'mon admit it, your real problem is that you dont have a pump for your flat basketball, or a place to shoot free throws and three pointers ;)

Is this true because of the continuity or motivation or things like that? Or is it actually better for you from a physical standpoint?

It's certainly better from the perspective of helping flush out toxins that are contributing to the soreness. Whether there is additional fitness benfit, I'm not sure.

If you're sore from weights rest the musles in question a few days, they won't grow as well if you hit the same muscle groups every day. Cardio is a different story, I try to get some every day.

That's true, I tend to think from a cardio perspective since that is all I do.

True Dat.

I'm just going to get back to running 4-5 times a week and lift a couple of times a week.

I started this weekend, took my start weight this morning. I'm only weighing on Mondays.
