I don't think that's true anymore.

Texas went 13-0 this year and were just a handful of games away from us at the beginning of the season.

But I'd say we've been as successful as anyone not named USC in those five years. And we may have been more successful than them.

Reason 103 plus - Gerald McCoy I started this thread because after watching you in The Army Game Saturday the talent -desire - and ability I saw from you as well as many other Sooner fans was just awesome - We loved to have you as Sooner Player - Follow your Heart do what's best for You.....I heard a rumor you've been a Sooner Fan as well - As a young man (many years ago) my My Dream was to play Football for "The Sooners" maybe that's your dream also...??? -- My Dream didn't happen.

Some of these 101 reasons are pretty good one's to come to OU - others you be the Judge .... Just know No matter what you decide we all look forward to watching you play College Football where ever that is....Go to class - keep the grades up - "Follow Your Dream" and no matter what just Keep on Rockin'

PS -- IF you decide to become a "Sooner" maybe you could play a down or two for some of us older fans that never got to fullfill our Dreams.....From what I saw it looks like you could start ASAP - I bet you believe that also - Now just go and show the Coaches and Lets Get Rockin' .......:)

I seem to remember many on here saying Texas didn't have a chance this year since we lost our best offensive and defensive players from the year before, a Doak Walker winner and a Butkus winner. That last year's Rose Bowl was a fluke against a mediocre Michigan team. That we would get blown out in Columbus...

I'd say losing Vince hurts a lot. I still consider this team top 10 caliber though. We'd have been the consensus #1 team had he returned.

He's the best and he should play for the best!

"DT Gerald McCoy -- The Oklahoma native came into the week ranked behind LSU commitment Al Woods as the nation's No. 2 defensive tackle. Not anymore. McCoy was clearly the best defensive tackle on either side throughout the week and in the game. He plays low and with excellent balance and he's super quick off the snap. He also has a great motor and terrific frame."
