SETTING THE STAGE: OU and Weber State face off tonight in the first of two games this weekend and the third of four against one another this season…Oklahoma played Weber State earlier this season in Ogden, Utah, tying the first game 2-2 and losing a heartbreaker in the last seconds of the game 5-4…OU has an all-time record of 1-1-2 against Weber State…This is the second trip into Oklahoma City in as many years for Weber State as the Wildcats and Sooners played to a 2-2 tie before OU beat Weber State 3-1 in the following game last season.

OKLAHOMA NOTES: The Sooners are currently ranked 17th in the nation in the latest ACHA D1 Coaches ranking…In the unofficial computer poll of ACHA D1 teams, OU is ranked 13th in the nation…This weekend’s games are the first of the Spring 2006 semester for OU as the Sooners resumes play after taking a break for Fall finals and Christmas…The Sooners last played on December 9 & 10, sweeping the Golden Gophers of the University of Minnesota by scores of 6-2 and 7-1…As the Sooners round the turn in the 2005-2006 schedule and head for the finish line in March, sophomore forward Matt Pangrac continues to lead the Sooners in goals scored with 13 and in total points scored with 20…Junior forward Justin Hall leads the Sooners in assists so far this season with 13…Defenseman Bryan Jewell leads the team in penalty minutes with 69…Junior goaltender Aaron Schmeilski has a 2.50 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 15 games this season.

WEBER STATE NOTES: The Wildcats are currently ranked 7th in the ACHA D1 Coaches poll and 5th in the unofficial computer poll…Weber State last played on December 17th against Utah State University, winning the game against USU 3-1…The Wildcats have an excellent power play attack, led by forward Eric Milliron who has 9 goals and 16 assists through 18 games this season…Milliron is followed by forward Ian Soldano (14-8-22), forward David Lorenzen (8-12-20), and forward Chris Smith (8-5-13)…In net, goaltender Kyle Gover has been rock solid between the pipes for Weber State this season, tallying a 13-3-1 record, a 2.04 GAA and a .935 save percentage so far this season.
