I'm starting a thread where each and every one of us can post their famous (and in some cases, infamous) moments on this message board for 2005. You can list and/or create any category you choose (best thread, best new poster, best avatar, worst thread, etc.) but there's a catch: You can't nominate yourself for any category, you have to nominate others (for instance, for best thread, you can't nominate any thread you started, only the ones others started).

I'll get it started:

Best New Poster for 2005 — Silverwheels. Already nearing 3,000 posts, and I believe I started before he did.

Best New Poster Representing An Opposing Team for 2005 — royalfan5. He's a Husker, but he's a part of the family.

Best OU Game Thread for 2005 — Holiday Bowl thread. 60-plus pages of greatness.

Best Avatar for 2005 — Yermom (Yermom with Darth Vader).

Best Thread on South Oval for 2005 — The thread (I think it was back in July or August) where we had to substitute certain words in movie titles with the word "lesbians" (A Fistful of Lesbians, etc.)

Best Signature for 2005 — Proud Gonzo (it went something like "No respect I swear. I give you people my soul and you would :dolemite: mash it with a spoon.").

Best Signature by an Opposing Team's Fan for 2005 — royalfan5's "I'll be in the back of my black Cadillac when Jesus finally comes to call his children home."

Annoying Poster for 2005 — Meni69, come up here and accept your award.

Most Disturbing Avatar for 2005 — jreed's "Horn Wearing the Golden Hat."

Best Location by a Poster for 2005 — Johnny Mack's "In a backfield with Holieway, Collins and Carr."

You have an entirely over-inflated opinion of your abilities, pasty. The fact is, I'm running my self off. What I've figured out is that I like OU football because I'm an Okie and its in my blood. I'll continue to read this board for what I can glean but the South Oval is a waste of my time. I've tried several times to make amends with the people I have issues with here but they aren't going to allow it.

This place has a few good folks but lots of disingenuous, close-minded and cowardly people. Its filled with the type of people that will give you all kinds of **** when you're 500 miles away, then when you walk up to their face and introduce yourself, they can't even think of one smartass thing to say. Oh, and you do have to walk up to them even when they know who you are and they're taller and outweigh you, because they don't have the guts to do that, right OU4Life? Then when you're 500 miles away, they regain their gonads and start mouthing off again. In Texas we've got a name for people like that. It starts with a P and ends with a Y.

So permaban this handle too Dean. Its the American way and lord knows you guys are such patriotic Americans.

Just to be clear. After a year of mostly positive experience, in which I had decided to become an Elite Sponsor, I started the Hollis Board, I had a 46,000 spek rating based on real spek not betting over two season and 1500 posts, in the last four weeks I can see this board is a place I don't want to be or patronize. There are two other boards which I believe have at least equivalent football knowledge without the abusive environment. I am taking my business elsewhere.

I vote this as the best thread on SO for 2008.

I know it won't beat Sic'em's "So, I met a girl" thread, but we have to have runners up.

It's not about politics but the fact that the original poster sort of disappeared without the courtesy of a proper meltdown after all of the trash talking.
