She was going to the store about 6:00 P.M. and a buck ran across the road and hit her little Honda Civic. It's antlers were so big it left holes in the hood of her car, crushed her left headlight and left quarter panel/fender and left door. She was able to drive the car home and I was able to pull the fender out of the tire.

It shook her up a little but she's O.K. and I drove over to find the deer this morning but could'nt.....

Santa may be running a little late tonight......:(

Oh man! My aunt did that several years ago. You're lucky if you don't get hurt doing that. And tell her it's ok as long as Rudolph stays healthy.

The funny thing was this deer was almost in town and she wasn't going very fast (about 25mph) and I'm thankful that was the only damage, cause your'e right it could have been alot worse......

(As sung from the perspective of the reindeer

Prancer got runned over by a Taurus
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve Eve.
You can say there's no such thing as ladies driving,
But as for me and Santa, we believe.

She'd been eatin' too much saltlick,
And we'd begged her not to go.
But she'd left her hay and water,
So she stumbled out the door into the road.

When they found her Christmas Eve mornin',
At the scene of the attack,
There were tiremarks on her forehead,
And incriminatin' bumper marks on her back.

R: Prancer got runned over by a Taurus
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve Eve.
(On her way home)
You can say there's no such thing as women drivers,
(Say there's no Santa)
But as for me and Santa, we believe.
(Lord, we believe)

Now we're all so proud of Santa,
He's been takin' this so well.
See him in there watchin' football,
Drinkin beer and playin' cards with all the elves

It's not Christmas without Prancer.
All the elves are dressed in black.
And we just can't help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?

R: Prancer got runned over by a Taurus
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
(Midnight before Christmas)
You can say there's no such thing as women drivers
(Say there's no such thing)
But as for me and Santa, we believe.
(Lord, we believe)

Now the goose is on the table
And the pudding made of fig.
And a blue and silver candle
That would have just matched the rhinestones on Prancer's collar.

I've warned all my friends and neighbors.
"Better watch out for yourselves.
They should never give a license,
To a chick who drives a Taurus and plays with IB4OU2."

I hope this doesn't precipitate a labor action from the reindeer union and its brother organizations. You know; concerns over unsafe working conditions, lact of overtime pay, etc.

If your son's young enough to believe in reindeer then he's to young to be reading threads on the SO...........;)

I don't even let my wife read this forum...............

Does this mean we have to burn Rudolph's red shirt?

Glad she's ok Steve . . .

We were on our way home from Durango about 6 years ago and a huge mule deer ran smack into the side of my truck . . . good thing I was going about 65 when we hit otherwise it could've been messy.

:D

insurance tip of the day:

lowering your comp deductible may be less expensive than you think...

also relating to this subject:

most auto policies consider hitting only a live animal as a comprehensive claim. hitting a dead animal in the road is considered a collision.

Update: The cost to repair her car is $ 2,111 and we pay $ 500 deductable........small price to pay for what it could of been.

Glad things worked out.

Ok, so the bill for the deer running into her car was $ 3,100.00 and we did'nt even get one venison steak from him..........:(

(still just cost me the $ 500 deductible and out of a car for 3 weeks...)

We pick up her car tomorrow and another reason I like hunting is so we can try to control the deer population and save drivers lives.
