So my next question is... If Madu committs tonight like everyone thinks he will that leaves 3 schoallies left. I know theres more than 3 players that OU is looking at and would love to have so who gets left out?

Micah Kia OL
Gerald McCoy DT
J. Gresham TE
B. Walker OL
I. Symonette OL
Chase Bealer OL
D. Murray RB

A LOT of good players are gonna have to look elsewhere i'm afraid.

Are you happy with the increase of Oklahoma players, less 4/5 star guys and less national recruiting in this class?

its more the TYPE of guys we are landing to go with the high profile guys. the lower ranked guys have a chip on their shoulder and the higher profile guys are shocked at how good the lower ranked guys are. it gives us a virtuous cycle instead of a vicious circle.

Are you sure?? I thought we only got 25 to offer this year? That would be sweet if i'm wrong.

we have 2 schollies left over from last fall and there are like 10 mid term enrollees in this class so we could take 27 and be okay.

There do seem to be a ton of mid-term guys this year. I've lost track of who they all are but Carter is one of them.

according to the guys on the radio tonite, we only have 3, not 5 left......they explained why but it was all over my head.....i just heard the numbers

we actually have 4. i had that we had 4 spring entrants last year, but we only had 3

last year we took 27 with 3 counting towards the previous year's class which leaves 24. so we can count one toward's last year's class and take 26. the one oddball is keith's scholarship. since technically he quit before school started in the fall, that slot may still be open which would give us 27.

okay, on insiders they are saying mike knall was #28 instead of a recruited walkon so 25 may be the number.

Scott D

I think he's going to UCLA.

It's possible, the scenarios are pretty interesting involving him.....Oregon St. has been after him the longest, Tennessee has begun recruiting the islands pretty hard since getting Mahelona. Once upon a time it was ground that really only the Academies, Utah schools, and NMSU touched....now, not so much anymore.

It was huge news back when I was in high school when Adrian Murrell committed to WVU because nobody committed east of the Mountain time zone from out there.

So we can take 25 and we already have 22. Still waiting on at least seven that I can think of right now.

McCoy---who knows
Gresham-who knows, probably OU
Murray---sounds good for OU
Morgan--ship probably gone after Tabon, A&M
Walker--says OU leads
Beeler---probably depends on what Walker does
Burton---no more room for DE, OSU
Nelson---supposed to decide today, no room for DE, TENN

Looks like the final three will probably be Murray, Gresham, and either Walker or Beeler, I guess. There is also the issue of whether Gibbs gets to keep his spot or not, and possible non-qualifiers.

Not sayin... just sayin...

I wonder if all or any of the NEO guys are going to stick....

Are we recruiting with a little fudge factor there? Over-recruiting with 3 or 4more linemen set to bolt (according to jkm)?

Enquiring minds want to know...

the only NEO guy that is in danger of being bounced is gibbs. i believe he tore his knee up earlier this year. taking an injured high school kid is one thing, a juco is quite another.

Not to mention the tight scholarship numbers and him taking visits to places like Iowa State.

Ah You's knee injuries were 2-3 years ago...not last year.

I know, but the injury risk after 3 knee surgeries on a JUCO player was still there.

we also needed a juco DE last year in the worst way. its not like we absolutely have to have a juco DT this year.
