Hard to say, but the one about building a car one piece at a time is pretty good. Also, "Sunday Morning Coming Down", but it's so depressing.

Of course, I might not be the most objective source for that pronouncement. Other than Loretta Lynn's collaboration with Jack White, I hate almost all "country" recorded since, oh, about 1975.

i wish i could figure out the name of the song that the two of them sang together the first time in the movie......the one where he interupted the song by kissing her on the cheek

"whiskey river" & "bloody mary mornin" are excellent.
the one about building a caddy "one piece at a time" is cute, but
"cute" wears out.

folsom is also very good.

Sunday Morning Coming Down is written by Kris Kristoferson, but yeah it is probably the best country music song of all time. I like Get Rhythm

Jed, you should check out some of the Red Dirt musicians. They definitely have that 1975 outlaw vibe.

I never was a Johnny Cash fan, he always sounded like he was battling congestion. I'm still a Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard fan though.

One Piece At a Time

Well, I left Kentucky back in '49
An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line
The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs

Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by
And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry
'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black.

One day I devised myself a plan
That should be the envy of most any man
