Do you guys think Bob will still try to get this guy even with brandon, bailey and 2 other linemen on the committment list? He's from hawaii and I think this guy too would make an impact on our team. Any thoughts?

Sure, were only about 10 linemen short.

I think an O-lineman will be getting Maclin's scholarship.

Would a recruit from Hawaii come to OU?

Have we ever had a kid sign straight from the islands?

What does Hawaii have that Oklahoma doesn't?

Lava is bad. Red earth is good.

Case closed.

It'd be cool to get someone from Hawaii. I'm always jealous of those west coast teams who get all the island recruits.

revisiting this thread for two reasons...

First, Hawaii has this little thing called dinner cruises which can allow underage drinking in international waters, Oklahoma doesn't have that ;)

Secondly this portion of an article in the Honolulu Advertiser from Dec 9th.

One of the most sought-after local recruits is Mililani offensive lineman Micah Kia, whom Fulmer visited at home earlier this week. Kia will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., next week, then Oklahoma the following week and then UCLA.

He'll be in Norman following Christmas.

Actually, he already visited and is on his way to visit UCLA...

I think w/ Walker wavering like crazy the coaching staff definitely needs to get another O-lineman on the back burner.

Most Kias I've seen weren't that fast or that big.
