This kid sounds like he REALLY wants to go to UT.

So far the search hasn't focused on one or two particular players at the position, but the Horns are eyeing safety prospect James Henry. The three-star safety/running back is committed currently to Oklahoma, but even after an official visit to Norman this past weekend, he left the door open for him to eventually end up in Austin.

At this point Texas has not offered Henry, who is 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, but he did schedule an official visit to the Forty Acres on December 9.

"They're going to keep recruiting me and we're just going to go from there. I guess they're looking for another defensive back because a couple of them in their secondary are going to graduate," Henry said about his situation with Texas.

"I think in the next two or three weeks they're going to let me know (on a possible offer). They've got the Big 12 Championship, and then I think they're going to come and make a home visit."

He's in Austin for the Longhorn athletic banquet this weekend. Wouldn't be surprised to see him commit to UT.

He's no loss if he committs to UT, we don't even need him.

to a degree yes. we have so many safeties on the roster it's ridiculous.

I mean yeah it would suck to lose him but, I think we would be ok if he went elsewhere.

actually I was being serious, not sarcastic....we're so deep at safety it's sickening.

Why is James Henry such a big deal though? It just seems like soonerscoop and soonersillustrated keep talking about him and stuff.

one thing we do have a shortage of is athletes that can do multiple things besides play a primary position (mainly special teams). henry fits that bill.

Is he even 100% healthy yet? Will he ever be?

He reminds me of Roy Miller from last year.

Thought Texass was out of scholerships so he can want to go there but dont think he will get an offer.

We have 24 verbals right now. The limit per class is 25. However, since 4 of the 24 will be enrolling in the Spring, they will count against last year's class. So, technically, we only have 20 in this class so far, with 5 more to give. We're saving some for next year though. We're not going to use them all up this year.

What about walkons? Do you think any will be given to them?

Probably. Brown typically rewards loyal players their senior years with the two or three leftover scholarships we might have.
