I read this today and thought some of you might find it interesting too.

As a fifth-string wideout in 1962, he wasn’t good enough to make the traveling squad so he hitched a ride to the Texas game that year. Bud Wilkinson still inserted him into the game and he scored the Sooners only touchdown in a 9 - 6 loss.

Who is he?

hint

he later played for the Dallas Cowboys

and Los Angeles Rams

oferfriggincryinoutlout. Rentzel, Renfro, when you get to be my age it's close enough. ;)

I knew it wasn't quite right but was having a non-firing-synapse event.

He was #7 on ESPN's list for "The biggest falls from grace".

Why'd he have to hitch a ride, he was a Casady kid.
They were loaded weren't they?

And he played for Minnesota first before Dallas. The
twin cities was his first Jacko episode.

there, it's titled "When all the Laughter Died in Sorrow.:"

A "where is he now?" question:

Does anybody know what Lance Rentzel is doing today? Also, did he ever marry again?

Thanks in advance.
