OK, that succs. What's wrong with people??? I was feeling pretty good about it because they had not just renewed for this season, but next season too.

So Fox moves the show to Mondays and then pre-empt it for baseball for like 6 months (it seemed that way anyway). Then they come back with 1 Monday and cancel it. Seems like they were looking for a reason to can the show.

This freakin sucks! What's wrong with people? This show is better than Seinfeld. Is it possible that one of the majors (abc cbs or nbc) will pick it up?

I wouldn't count on it (but what do I know). I really liked Arrested Development during season 1, but lost interest in it before season 2 because I could never remember what time it was on. The couple of episodes that I did catch were so so and didn't keep my interest. It just like the show lost something inbetween seasons for me.

they ****ed around with it too much(no new episodes or just not being on enough)

it probably is a bit too involved to be really successful, you have to know what is going on for it to be funny, even more than Seinfeld

Yeah, good point. I tried to show it to the new girlfriend and she thought all the characters were annoying. Everything I thought was funny she hated. You really need to know the characters to appreciate it.

Like in the last episode, when George Michael kept turning his back on everything thrown at him. Hilarious.

I really liked this convo from the last episode:

GM: Ann is in the beauty pageant.
Michael: Ann?
GM: Yeah.
Michael: Really?
GM: Yeah it's an inner beauty pageant.
Michael: There it is.

:D

Man, I was all excited and these were just OK.

Wow, I thought those two episodes were inspired. The Church and State fair. The "inner beauty" pagent. And the Mole vs Rocket Man fight had me floored.

Geez, I can't believe that they're cancelling this show.

SoonerObsession
11/11/2005, 12:42 PM
I guess you really do have to watch it from the beginning. It's a shame that more people have not watched it. Every actor on this show does a fantastic job. I can't believe I'm not going to be able to follow the Blooth family anymore after this year. Suck!

They are screwing with Malcolm in the Middle, too, by moving it around. It's
on friday nights. Saw it tonight, and it's still great. But, friday night is a bad night to be on TV. Wish they would move it to mid-week, and keep it there.

You and me both. One thing that was interesting about their press release was that they called it the "Season Finale" as opposed to the "Series Finale". A lot of people are trying to read into what that means. I think either someone screwed up or they are assuming it will be picked up by someone else (or maybe they already know someone else is picking it up). Fingers crossed.

Narrator: On the next Arrested Development, Tobias listens to a day's worth of his own recordings to see what Michael was referring to.
Tobias Fünke: [on tape] Even if it means me taking a chubby, I will suck it up!
Tobias Fünke: [out loud] Nothing wrong with that.
Tobias Fünke: [on tape] I've been in the film business for a while but I just cant seem to get one in the can.
Tobias Fünke: [out loud] Context...
Tobias Fünke: [on tape] I wouldn't mind kissing that man between the cheeks.
Narrator: And he realizes there IS something distinct about the way he speaks.
Tobias Fünke: [out loud] Tobias... you blow hard!
