Any sites out there that have good reviews of inkjet printers (with user reviews also)? I need to find a good photo printer for my mom and can't seem to find a good site to easily do research.

That being said, I advised my parents to buy a printer that's not listed.

I've never had one inkjet printer that was worth a damn. I know that doesn't help you any, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Hrm.

Thing that I like to look at before anything else is cost per printed page, especially with color printers.

Used to be fairly standard in these kinds of reports, now I hardly ever see it. PCWorld included some numbers so you could do your own math, but I'm a bit lazy for that.

Anyone know of any sites that still include those figures in their reviews?

Norm, check out the Dell branded printers, they're pretty good machines for the price. They're made by Lexmark, and cheaper than the Lexmark branded printers where the only difference is the color of the plastic.

I'll check them out.

They had a printer on the TechTV christmas shopping thing the other night... I think.

They have a couple of recommendations on this page:

I found a pretty good one. i think I'll get the second one on the list - everyone seems to like it.

We have a higher end Canon and like it quite a bit. We wanted the scanner as well and it works like a dream. I haven't done a LOT of printing of photos on it, but the quality is great.

HP's quality has gone to ****.

I have a 1 year old HP All In One (7110 officejet) that needs three new
print heads. It's a very "low mileage" printer.

I'll buy a canon next time. sooneron is right.

I've been through tons of inkjets.

I currently have an HP 8450 and it's actually been the best I've ever had. I'm kinda surprised to tell you the truth.

Hmmm. I guess she likes it pretty good.

But what about her kitchen cabinets??

She likes those too. She still has a couple of weeks before she gets her counter though. Those bastards.

They are a pretty good source of reviews for just about any electronic item. Sometimes they're editor reviews throw around a lot of praise for no good reason. The important thing to read are user reviews of people that have actually owned and used the product.

See if newegg sells the item. If they do, read the user reviews there. I typically find them to be very good. Always read reviews from multiple website sources.

Inkjet? Feh. Laser pwns. And who really needs color anyway? It just drives the cost of ink through the roof. ;)

No.

COLOR laser pwns. Way pretty.

Not the best thing for printing out photos, but excellent otherwise.
