Pretty good movie. Not quite what I expected, although I guess the name should have tipped me off. I was expecting a bit more of a psychological thriller. It was violent. Graphically violent. Limb snapping, vertebrae cracking, face shot off violence.

Also, I'm glad I wasn't on a date, 'cause there were a few sex scenes that made you a little seat squirmy.

I just watched this movie last night with Iggy. No joke it isn't a date movie. I think I would have been uncomfortable watching that in a theater. the cheerleader scene was almost pornographic.

during the butt crack scene I said, "holy crap, I think she's more messed up than he is!"

I think they showed a lot more blood and gore than was necessary. I didn't need to see the damage to realize he shot a guy in the face. dang.

I really liked William Hurt's character but was surprised his part was so small.

I really didn't like the ending--I don't think they knew where to go with it. I enjoyed the movie but to me they should have done another draft or two of the script. I just didn't think it was quite right... But it could really have been a terribly bad movie if Viggo wasn't such a good actor. Wasn't too crazy about the kid playing his son... but Viggo was good.

I could have done without the butt crack though.

It was a good movie overall. David Cronenberg was the director though and he can't help himself from throwing in some gratuitous weirdness. Not as bad as David Lynch at that but he comes close at times.
