ok, nerds, what are you listening to? My current list:
Bibb and Yaz take over the world- cringe humor
Chicken Fried Radio- more cringe humor I believe
Communication Breakdown- weekly articles and music from WFMU in East Orange New Jersey
LMAO- humor, I think, haven't listened yet, but it was recommended
iROK- oklahoma independent rock show
Nate MC- nerdcore rap
Seven Second Delay- WFMU comedy call-in hour with the guy who created Monk
Sounds of Young America- neat call in show, sounds kind of NPRish.

I only found that one today, haven't listened to any of it yet. I probably listen to only about 20 - 30% of all the podcasts I download. Most episodes don't interest me or I don't have time to listen to them all. I'm pretty brutal about deleting old ones even if I haven't listened to them yet. If I don't do that, they take up a lot of space and haunt me.

My favorite ones are Leo Laporte, the NOVA ones and my preacher. I like skepticality too at times, but the dude that does that one is in a coma right now so there are no new ones. i like science friday and listen to it each week when I mow, but the dude gets WAY political at times, he has good guests, though.

here are my current podcasts, full of hacky comedy goodness and nerdy techno-crap with a little history mixed in.

also, I should have bought a 60 gig, because with my audio books and podcasts, I've been having to delete a bunch of music. Nothing I would probably ever listen to, but that's beside the point.

podcast: iRok Radio - http://www.irokradio.com/

Video podcast: http://www.myspace.com/musicshow
Norman music show on cable access -- hilarious. 'Gameday' is the best episode
(there's a link for iTunes on the right, a little ways down)

internet radio: Gimme Noise - http://www.gimmenoise.com/

Really, I've been playing around with Pandora (http://www.pandora.com/) more than anything else lately. It's the coolest thing on the Internet right now.

Festival City Radio is a couple of guys - Tom and Jeremy - and a podcast meant to bring people in our area closer to the independent music scene.

We aim to give you a quick look at new releases, local bands, upcoming shows, and whatever else we like.

Find the podcast on iTunes (search for 'Festival City Radio') or go to http://festivalcityradio.libsyn.com/ (You don't need an iPod or iTunes to listen, by the way. It's just one big mp3.)

To subscribe using iTunes or another RSS reader, use the address http://festivalcityradio.libsyn.com/rss

Pandora is awesome. I just wish they had a bigger library/more obscure stuff from other countries...

I'll have to listen to those local podcasts, thanks for the heads up.

I don't understand what the buzz is around the Rickey Gervwhatever show is. I listened to one episode, but didn't find it funny at all.

Another podcast you all should check out is The Best Show on WFMU (you can find it by going to wfmu.org) It's a weekly 3 hour call in show with a little indie music (it's cut out of the podcast due to royalty issues) and call in's hosted by Tom Scharpling (a producer and writer for Monk). It started out 5 years ago as Tom interviewing Jon Benjamin (Dr. Katz's son Ben, Coach McGuirk, etc...) where Jon would act like some ridiculous guest and they would take calls from outraged callers. It has since morphed into a call in show where Jon Wurster (drummer for Superchunk, Portastatic, etc...) calls in about twice per show as ridiculous characters (Hot Rockin' Ronny, Timmy Tremble the two inch tall racist, Philly Boy Roy, Bryce the stoner who goes from chilled out to ****ed in a matter of seconds, Marky Ramone, etc...)and the rest is filled out by a mix of actual callers and regulars (usually NYC startup comedians).

If you enjoy dry, witty humor you would like TBSOWFMU. You have to listen for a while to get it because Tom does a lot of filling. This is my absolute favorite.

Like your podcast list Andy...especially The Nashville Nobody Knows...good stuff.

I'll respectfully disagree on The Ricky Gervais show. Hysterical in my book...but I'm a huge fan of The Office (both BBC and American version).

I also subscribe to Roots Rock Radio...The Naked Scientist and Jeff Black - Black Tuesday (one of my favorite songwriters).
