Went to Chili's to celebrate a special day for yours truly. Wore my new black OU cap. Waiter goes over to me and says, "Hey, I like the cap." I say thanks then he talks about getting grief from his co-workers all week because of the TCU debacle. He then mentions that he was in the stands for the 2001 and 2002 Red River Shootouts then he drops this gem on me:
"So who do we play next?"
Politely, I say "Tulsa."
"Where, at Norman or Tulsa."
"At OU."
"Don't we play at home for our first three games?"
"No, we go to UCLA next Saturday."
"We've played UCLA every year haven't we?"
"Well, we played them two years ago and beat them. That's the game where Perkins returned three punts for touchdowns."
"Oh, yeah. I remember that now."
Thus endeth the conversation. :D :D :D
p.s. I wish I had a female hottie serve me instead. Had some pretty good hotties working there today.

I had some guy at work that I'd never seen before (though I was on the 2nd floor getting ice and I work on the 3rd floor, so that's probably why) come up to me noticing my OU mug lat week. Here's how the conversation went:

Guy: Who do we play on Saturday?
Me: TCU
Guy: What time?
Me: 11:00.
Guy:
Me:
Guy:
Me:
Guy: That gonna be on TV?
Me: Uhh, yeah.

Guy: What channel?
Me: Channel 8 (ABC in Dallas).

Chili's serves warm salads.

Well, they did 10 years ago.

Someone called me a snob the other day for saying that Chili's was about like eating at McDonald's. . .the food is ok if you are on a road trip and you want something that is standard across the country.

How do you know it was an old black pube? Wouldn't it be grey?

How did it taste?

I generally avoid chain restaurants, they are for yuppie metrosexual big city clones. I am not so adamant about it though that when in a group I'll refuse to eat there, that's rude, imo. The dessert was not that great, even without the pube. The hillbillies around here were so excited about the Chili's, now they think we're getting a Hooter's and a Starbucks.

chili's and other "casual dining" chains: pre-boiled pasta in individually wrapped shrinkwrap portions. gross. very low quality chicken breasts, as well.

plastic corporate food=bad.

Wow, after reading this thread I'm glad I passed on Chili's tonight to do a Chinese buffet instead.
