I think this is KS's best chance at a National Title. Great team + Few Real Contenders = National Championship.

I think the 2002 was better, but the 2006 has a better shot at cutting down the nets in April.

Sherri Coale's team isn't looking too bad this season either. If the Paris twins can contribute like everyone's hoping, this team can go a long way this season.

i hear you, but i don't think this is a national championship team unless Walker, Carter, and Neal are above reasonable expectations. hard to overlook Villanova, they return alot. and took Carolina to the buzzer last year. I'd say they are a real contender.

2002 was a pretty good shot: it's not often you have a final four consisting of two teams you handled earlier in the year--KU and Maryland--and a lower seed--IU.

Maryland would have been a tough out a second time around---but Ace bodied up on Lonny Baxter like a man the first time. we also got a little lucky that Blake had a bad night shooting the ball at the LNC.

Still, one of my favorite non-Tubbs LNC moments being at that one. i was in Norman for teh holidays. my dad blew off some christmas party he was supposed to go to with his wife (basically giving her the "my son and i are going to this game, sorry") and we had a few dos equis and burgers at the Service Station. went to the game. double digit win. watched the ESPN highlights at the Library. had some late-night smoked BBQ brisket sandwiches back at the house and watched the highlights again. good times with the old man.
