Brumbaugh arrested for shoplifting

STILLWATER - Keith Brumbaugh, a member of Oklahoma State's touted basketball recruiting class, was arrested for shoplifting on Aug. 20, two days before attending his first class.

Brumbaugh, a freshman from DeLand, Fla., was arrested after Wal-Mart employees spotted him leaving the store without paying for merchandise. The value of the items was $42.03.

Contacted Friday, Cowboys head coach designate Sean Sutton declined comment until details of the case were clear.

Officers reported that Brumbaugh was cooperative with the police. The case will be handled in municipal court.

Brumbaugh, a 6-foot-8 forward, was a consensus top-15 player nationally, averaging 30.3 points, 12 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 3.6 steals per game his senior season at DeLand High School. He was named a third-team Parade All-American.

A five-star recruit, according to Rivals, Brumbaugh was rated the No. 14 player overall in the country. InsideHoops had him ranked as the No. 8 player overall in the class and the No. 2 small forward behind Gerald Green, an OSU signee who skipped school to become a first-round NBA draft choice.

Actually, he will just get a fine and probably a deferred sentence....if it was his first adult crime charged.

Tell you the truth, Wal-Mart is a bunch of thugs, too. Everytime someone gets caught lifting a stick of gum, Wal-Mart sends them a letter telling them that if they pay Wal-Mart $100.00 it won't sue them. A Payne County judge once announced in open court if Wal-Mart pulls that crap while attempting to pursue things in criminal court that he will just toss the case from that point forward. After the judge said that, I saw a letter to a client like that in Pottawatomie County.

I am SURE the following is not true, but some report that Wal-Mart hires illegal foreign clean-up crews certain places in the U.S., discriminates against women and/or minorities, used to make people work off the clock to avoid overtime and bullies its vendors. The assertions cannot be true because it just is not nice and anybody that did those things should be gang raped by osu running backs.

what a shame, that kid needs to realize the opportunity he has been given. I dont understand why he would do something like that. Well he should fit right in @ Pokie A&M.

That bright orange is suitable for both highway warning cones and inmate attire.

and after they just remodeled the store too . . .

I really hate going into that place up here during the school year. It's like it is the only place those college kids can hang out up here. Oh wait . . .

Wal-Mart is the stoolwater safe place where osu athletes can elude their rivals from Langston who so soundly humiliated them at Whataburger a couple of years ago.
