Seriously, I couldn't duplicate that in EA NCAA if I was playing on Pop Warner level.

Sad part is...if we don't go into the shell in the 3rd Q last year and blow some of the best field position the O had all year, I think we shoulda had 60 on them again.

they showed up last year. and Francione got us with some special teams stuff (like he did with Bama) for two scores. i give the Ag's credit--but i still think they are goofballs. White wins that game stepping up in the pocket and finding Bradley on a busted route.

pretty clutch play in a hostile environment.

I think that was the main problem with our offense this year. We could've beaten K-state by 20 or more had we capitalized on the field position. A&M would've been a lot less condusive to heart attacks had we done that.

and the Cotton Bowl was boring? they were one Matt Jones play away from a tie... i guess he hadn't really matured yet at that point.

i forgot Hybl had the only TD run in that game  i didn't know that he set a record for the most completions in the Cotton Bowl that just doesn't seem right, i guess it shows how anemic OUr offense really was that year

Two problems contributing to N8's inefficiency- TERRIBLE O line, Mangino's poor playcalling and N8's uneasiness due to being slobber-knocked in the ksu,ut, and Neb games.

worst *** kicking ever. someone needs to pull up the stats from that game, those are even harder to believe than the score.

as for last year? I played in golf tourney over the weekend and on Saturday we were paired with a Texas and aTm grad. I told 'em on one hole that I'd take Reggie over Vince any day of the week.
We then talked about how Reggie shredded our D last year and I said "hell the kicker was throwing TD's on us."

From this thread (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3651) on November 9, 2003:

- We had 49 points in the first half. A&M had 47 yards.

- We had four touchdowns called back on us.

- Jason White, Brandon Everage, Mark Clayton & Vince Carter didn't see the field in the second half.

- I paid $15 for a ticket.

- We held the ball for 12 of 15 minutes in the fourth quarter...and didn't score.

- We held the ball 21 of 30 minutes in the second half.

- John Flynn, Chris Messner, Chris Bush and some other guy saw quality time on the O-Line in the second half. Messner and Bush are the only two on scholarship.

- Calvin Thibedeaux and Larry Burdine were our DEs for most of the second half.

- Our starting defensive backfield was on the bench for the fourth quarter.

- It was cold and drizzly.

- Boomer, Sooner and the Schooner only saw the field once in the second half...we scored four times.

- I've been saying that some people didn't understand how bad we would beat A&M.

- Third-string walk-on fullback Dan Townsend ran the last four plays of the game for gains totalling 10 yards.

- Townsend had more rushing yards than A&M had total yards in the second half.

- Our 77 point win was not only A&M's worst defeat ever, it tied a record for most points scored in Big XII play and set the record for biggest scoring margin in Big XII history.

- Derrick Strait didn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

- We passed only three times in the second half.

- In the fourth quarter, we turned the ball over on downs after we:
1. Ran four plays up the middle and got the first down.
2. Kneeled on first down.
3. Ran up the middle.
4. Ran up the middle.
5. Ran up the middle.
(Mind you we were within the five yard-line.)

- People in Section 22 need to stop being aggies and stop that "OSU sucks" chant.

- A&M had three first downs. We had 11 times that.

- Gayron Allen led OU tacklers with 6 tackles.

- We had 4 sacks. (Allen, Thibedeaux, Harris & Pool)

- Melvin Bullitt and Johnny Jolly won the lottery after they "stopped" us within the 3-yard-line.

- This is the first time since the 1999 Iowa State game that we've had two 100-yard rushers.

- White shattered the OU record for most consecutive completions with 17 (including the last two passes against OSU). Cale Gundy had 12 in 1992.

- I ate a pretzel during the fourth quarter.

I remember switching the channel looking for a real football game and eating more cheezy dip than usual. 77-0 was nothing, we could have scored at least one more TD but Stoops showed some mercy.

The 02 Cotton Bowl was a snoozefest and I remember thinking that I climbed out of bed "for this?" Our D was very good that year and our O was inconsistant to say the least.

Stoops could picked a score and gotten it. 100 points would have been easy. He pulled back about halfway through the first half and basically shut things down after halftime. Three, count 'em 3 passes in the second half. Most unbelievable thing I have ever seen.

If I remember correctly, we pushed pretty hard until the half, calling timeouts and practicing the 2:00 offense to get the last TD just a few seconds before the half. I remember walking on the field to perform at halftime thinking that we should be doing the post-game concert.

But yeah, the second half was just playing around. I couldn't believe how incredibly out of it their team was.
