zooming through the grand canyon with terrain turned on is breath taking.

it even has my uncle's house in the suburbs of Paris, France.

How cool is this program?

I just wish so much cool stuff wasn't masked off.

Not much visible in downtown NYC, DC, etc.

Put in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC and you'll see what I mean.

Yeah...part of Iowa are pretty mind-numbing too. But western Oklahoma and Texas can also be like that. I was just saying that if interstates really do just dead end in Nebraska, maybe Gary Larson was on to something.

the three legged sculpture is at the main entrance, to the east of the highrise (quarter to half mile...on the second picture, near the "fork" towards the bottom)

I just found out that you can make user comments.

That means that you can tag a location on the planet and then share comments about that location with everyone else that has google earth. There are quite a few user comments in the area around Ground Zero in NYC.

This might be the best program ever invented.

Google Earth downloads temporarily delayed

Thanks for your interest in Google Earth, but we're sorry we can't offer you a download right now. As you know, Google Earth is in beta, and we're still building out our ability to take on new users. We're making good progress, and expect to be able to accept new downloads shortly, so we recommend you check back daily at earth.google.com. We hope to be able to welcome you and other new planet surfers soon.

We appreciate your patience,
