View Full Version : Am I the only one afraid that there will be a 4th wave of ska.

I just have this creeping feeling that in the near future people are going to bring back ska for no good reason, and subject society to a bunch of people who listened to their older siblings Reel Big Fish and Save Ferris cd's, and it terrifies me.

I'm not, but I do know that love is the seventh wave.

You will retract your statement about Save Ferris, and you will do it now, interloper!

The Backsteet Boys are back together, so of course a ska comeback is inevitable.

Not that I'm relating the two, but things go in cycles. Damn those Backstreet Boys.

What, lipstick lesbians?

The chick on the left isn't bad, but the one on the right is just weird-lookin'. Here's hoping she never has kids, 'cause if she does I'll bet they're just as ugly. And probably fat, too.

remember that episode of that show with Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari where Tom Hanks pretends to like reggae and szechaun food to try and get with that blond chick?

bri
5/29/2005, 09:38 PM
Oh, the one with the wacky misunderstanding?

That one ruled.

Remember that one episode of The Young Ones where the guys were running around the streets, and they suddenly stopped and introduced Madness (who just happened to be standing on the sidewalk, instruments in hand), who promptly played "Our House"? Good times.

I merely said that she's a horrific actress who almost singlehandedly killed TWO decades-long franchises. Which she is, and she did.

Cameron Diaz is a braying, talentless skank who makes me long for the sweet release of death every time I'm forced to watch her for even a few minutes.

Plus, not hot at all. Unless your idea of "hot" is "ugly".

Many people count Sublime as Ska. My beef is not with Ska itself, in fact, I like some ska, but I just don't think we need more of it. I am just afraid people with the ability ot play horns will start joining bands again.

LTC also did a good cover of Nick Lowe's "Cruel To Be Kind" in that movie, too.

Any time it's on the telly, I'll leave it on in the background 'cause the soundtrack's so good. Save Ferris, Letter To Cleo, Semisonic...

They had their first hit circa96/97 with Sell Out. Their second album came out fall of 98.
