You just had to be there. West side, row 55 looking down at the North goal line. Sitting next to me was about a 13 year old kid that was into the spring game like it was a title game.

He hooted and hollered at dropped passes, spontaneously lept from his seat, offered advice to the QBs, made drumming noises with his mouth to go along with the band...and generally had everybody within three rows of him staring.

Sure I admired his enthusiasm, but when I looked into his eyes...I saw the offspring of Haystack Calhoun. He had that not all there crazy look.

He worked himself into a frenzy during the first half

Then slowly petered out with frustration after each incompletion and interception.

Eventually settling down to stare at the bare lower back of the lady in front him.

Eventually the boy came over to tell Norm that he and Spring Game Fan had the same shirt on.

Cute kid.

Spring Game Fan made the game much more enjoyable.

The end.

he sat behind me at the '01 game. only he was about 32, redneck hillbilly, who liked to talk aloud so everyone could hear him.

"boy that Q GRiffin is some player ain't he?"

then out of nowhere more unprovoked brilliance:
"Brian Bosworth, he was one heckuva linebacker."

"Lyyyyydell Car, tough fullback there."

So will Spring Game Fan become a new SF mascot?

In the fourth photo from the top he looks like he's trying to "covertly" squeeze out one helluva fart.

I tried to record the guy on my phone, but my phone ran out of space. The recordings I got weren't good at all. He was quite enthusiatic. I've never seen someone act like that during the spring game. I was actually more entertained than annoyed.

And he was wearing the same shirt as me. The boy announced that quite loudly.

Did the lady in front of him have a tramp stamp?

I thought that too. or maybe someone slipped a construction cone in his seat whilst he was standing.

Did the lady in front of him have a tramp stamp?
No, but now that I think of it her pants were riding kinda low. There was some definite cleavage showing every once in a while.

Every stadium in America is chock-full of college football coaches. I can't believe the job pays as well as it does.

Every once in a great while, the dolemite will drop some knowledge on you when you least expect it.
