Ok, I had my knee scoped and I have been sitting at home on Vicodin, and I gotta say I really don't see how people get hooked on this stuff. It makes me feel like poo.

I like it. Too much. I have to be really strict with myself so as not to get hooked on it.

Really? It gives me a headache and want to puke. Tough choice:

1) headache and want to puke
b) knee hurt like hell

You might try knocking back a few cold ones prior to your next dosage. :D

Hey, you're right! That did the trick!

How do I get my eyes uncrossed?

As long as the walls don't start melting, you're OK.

Great! BTW what did they do to you when you had your knee scoped?

Howzit
11/9/2003, 04:14 PM
What did they do? You mean why was it scoped to begin with?

Tailwind

Yes, thats what I meant(I think). Why were the pain meds necessary? You had to have some blinding pain to put up with a painkiller that didn't agree with you.

The scope was for a tear in the quadralateral hybiscus.
:)

Or something. Basically, torn cartilege due to wear and tear from hauling my big butt over too many miles of concrete over the years. And the doc said there were other surfaces that had become "fuzzy" and he smoothed them down.

And I actually didn't put up with them for long, they got old pretty quick...

It's good that, as soon as you started feeling pain, you went in and had it done. It'll drastically improve your recovery time too. I had a scope a while back, but I waited seven years after the original injury to do it. Bad idea. What should be a 3-hole, 1-hour procedure took 4 holes and 2 1/2. Bad. Bad.

Glad you're feeling better Howzit . . . a buddy at work is going to have his knee "cleaned out" in the near future.

Thanks Bob, and he'll be very glad he had it done. I had my left knee cleaned out a few years ago when I was still doing triathlons, and the results are really unbelievable.

And Skull, I can sympathize. The first time I went through this I had a blown ACL that was misdiagnosed. I waited too long and by the time I got a new doctor the knee had frozen up. He had to do a scope first to regain mobility in the knee, and then went in to do the acl reconstruction.

NOT good times.

You obviously not taking them often enough. Double up the dosage, and smoke a hogleg or two. Put Pink Floyd dark side of the moon in the ol CD player and chill like frosty.

Tell her I said it was okay.

And, Howzit, learn to take your pain meds (4 years ago) like a man.

Hmm.

Honey, my doctor says I need to have a girlfriend. And you know me. I'm nothing if not a stickler for following the doctor's instructions to the letter.

Never mind your eyes. Booze plus the acetaminophen in the Vicodin is crossing your liver!! Send me the pills NOW, for your own good.
