I've already got a bearded dragon and a chinese water dragon - they are wonderful pets. I don't think the Gecko's have much personality do they?

My students love the one I have now. I think these are the best herps for youngsters.

How big do they get?
He's probably close to full grown and he's a year and a half old. I imagine from head to tail he's about 18 inches. He'll probably fill out more though. My Chinese Waterdragon is about 24 inches from head to tail He is the same age as the Beardie - so I hope he won't get any bigger. His body is about 12" and his tail is about 12".

Both of those are a bit too big for my classroom, but they sound like good pets.

They do require a lot of space. They are in separate "habitats" because they survive in different conditions. Bearded dragons like it arid and desertlike and Chinese Water Dragon has to have the humid "rain forest" atmosphere. He has to have a "pool" of some kind he can swim in. Both of their habitats are about 4 feet by 5 feet. Water Dragons are a lot more skittish than the bearded dragons. You can put the Beardie on your shoulder and he'll stay there forever. :)
