No, I don't. Particularly since the closest Hooters is in Vancouver.

And their wings suck anyhow.

If you want, though, I've got some leftover shrimp. I'll even wear a cutoff tee for you.

their wings aren't terrific, but they're consistant, which is key. They're also generally juicier then many other wing places

Hey, I'm just sayin'-there's sometimes a reason that end-users put in duplicate IRs.

Actual conversation I had with someone in IT once:

"Hey, all the printers in my branch are down. Can someone take a look at it and get me back online?"

"Uh, the printer guy is on call."

"Great. Call him."

"But it's Saturday and he lives in Palmer. So he's going to have to drive in."

"Awesome. I guess he better start now, huh?"

"Do we really need to call him in?"

(Trying not to lose my temper)"Let me explain something to you: if I have no printers, I can't print out loan documents. If I can't print out loan documents, we don't have any income. If we don't have any income, NOBODY GETS PAID. The point in having someone 'on-call' is that you call them if something breaks. Something is broken."

soonerboomer93
11/20/2008, 02:32 PM
I understand that, but this a "superuser". It's part of his job to not be duplicating issues, especially when he mentions it might be a repeat in the duplicate. He was just too lazy to look, which any of the users can freely do. He's also well aware of the fact there is a priority system in place for requests.

Of course, all his issues and every email I get from him has the subject in all caps with and exclamation point at the end.

that generally depends on how the printers are setup and if they use a print server

We'll see. If OU comes back with a good financial package...well, it is a Tier 1 law school. I already know I like living in Norman. It's a low cost of living college town near a couple of big cities that's a decently warm place. It meets all of my criteria (except that I would prefer to be in a "swing" state.)
