dell outlet coupons ftw

just ordered my parents a quad core system, win vista ultimate, 500gb, 3gb ram, even has wireless already in it, but no monitor (they have a 22" already). was less then $700 but i added a couple things, then got 15% off. vid is only 128mb, but i can always replace it later if necessary.

oh, and it's an XPS

that will suit for the b-day(s)

Cam

i might order one when i move into my own apartment

Yeah, that's why I was curious which model. If you would've gotten one for under $700 I was going to flip.

soonerboomer93
5/1/2008, 12:10 PM
why, we got a server for under 800 i think

dual processor, dual core xeon processor with 2gb ecc, dual 750gb sata

no os

720's start at 819 on the outlet site, that's after they just got picked through because of the sale

Cam
5/1/2008, 04:50 PM
A 720 with what you described would be more than $700, especially new. Refurb's are always cheaper and is where I get my desktops. Personally, i wouldn't waste my time on a refurb laptop though.

The 720's have gone down quite a bit since (a) we're struggling and (b) the water cooled chassis is getting more push from marketing. It's also gone down quite a bit in price the last few month.

soonerboomer93
5/1/2008, 07:12 PM
my M1330 is a refurb
of course it's also an XPS

only problem i have is a vid issue (driver, it started after a driver update) and then hard drive (it's a click on the spin up command, i'm used to it, it's a seagate issue or that it's a free fall sensor drive, because the drive has been replaced already and same issue)

Good thing is that I've already started looking and have an interview tomorrow. The bad thing is that I really don't want to miss out on that severance check. They're putting out some pretty damn good funds. Plus, knowing that you've already got an exit date assigned to you really does suck. I drove past Chapman Stadium and saw the new video board on the frame of the venerable old south end zone scoreboard, then cut across the edge of campus and saw the first stirrings of sexy private school chicks as I took Delaware to 3rd. Then "Thunderstruck" came on the radio as I rolled back into downtown. Oh yeah, I'm ready for football now. :D

I remember watching Saturday morning "movies" there. Then going into the drugstore on the corner of Admiral and Lewis for a soda, or across the street to Oklahoma Tire and Supply. It was really a big deal when TG&Y opened up its new store at 1st and Lewis - where Sweeny's is now.

If I recall - starting at the corner of Admiral and Lewis, there was the drugstore, a jewelry store, barbershop, Circle theater, post office, C.R. Anthony's, maybe another store or two, then TG&Y. Across the street, next to OTASCO, was the Silver Castle cafe. On the corner of 1st was Borden's cafeteria.
