my dumbass stayed out until after 3 am last night doing the bar hop routine. I went to the last bar because this norweigan talked some trash to me about not wanting to drink any more, then he wasn't even there.

Primary consideration for getting out of bed when I was laying there at 6:30 this morning wanting more sleep, that if I waited too much longer, then I wouldn't get one of the reserved parking spots and parking would be a bitch.

holy crap, I just finished my self-imposed novel deadline. I hit 50,000 words before midnight. (We were only required to have 37,500 by midnight today... I did twice as much as the rest of the class. And now I get to do my happy dance and gloat about it... and not tell the rest of the class for fear that they might slash my tires)

get a call from H at 4:30, turns out it's my scottish friend on the line and he's with her drinking. They want me to go come have some drinks there since she was asking about me. I have to tell them many times I have work in 3 hours, and no way I'm getting my *** out to drink. The animation was gorgeous, and I didn't necessarily dislike the story they made into a movie, but it wasn't Beowulf.

Actually, I kind of am. It's going for about $20 a pound here for red king, somewhat less for golden. That works to what, about $48 a kilo?

And I'm low-carbing for the win. Down 13 pounds in three weeks. Would be 18, but I may have cheated like a LOT yesterday.

The other thing they do is they cut the legs length wise after it's been cooked. It's basically hassle free to eat it, not much cracking you have to do. Follow it with this rice they serve in the top shell and it's good.

They did a really good job of referencing it.

This one had some odd looking file string up on the jumbotron saying "save_us.x29" followed by a bunch of code and "Did you break the code? x+1=y" and "9+1=j" (I guess referencing that J is the 10th letter and y is the next letter from x). Morphed "save_us.x29" to "save_us.y2j" then cut the lights completely like his initial entrance. Big pyro and then the strobing "JERICHO" on the jumbotron. His original "Break the Walls Down" music playing.

Anyhow, he cuts about a 3 minute promo about how he's saving the WWF (whoops!) from how boring Randy Orton is.

no, I didn't get cardio in, and a low weight high rep lift helps my shoulders not be as tight.

now my calves and quads are bothering me some. C was messing around and kinda massaged one calf last night and it was painful at first, then it finally relaxed. I may have to go find the sport massage place in town (as opposed to the special massage place most of them are).

Frozen Sooner

So, sb, here's a reason for you to get an HD DVD player if you're into that:

Star Trek: TOS was completely remastered from film and all the effects cleaned up. It's being released exclusively as HD DVD/DVD combo disks. For something filmed several decades ago, it looks really good.

Yeah, I know. Hey, I've never watched the original Star Trek before, so I'm watching them now.

soonerboomer93
11/22/2007, 04:00 AM
I've never been a big trekkie

also, considering i'm not in the states, hd-dvd isn't a big use for me, especially since they only provided standard dvd players to us. Heck, i haven't even seen any next gen gaming consules for sale in the local stores (not to say they aren't here, i just haven't seen them)

If i was in the states, i would drop the money on HD-DVD and a nice tv, but i'm only there 30 days out of the year so I can't really justify it.

Frozen Sooner
11/22/2007, 04:06 AM
K. I just remember that was something you were looking at a while back and the fact that HD DVD was region-free was a big seller for you.

These new Trek discs can be played on a regular DVD player, you just won't get 1080p or Dolby TrueHD sound out of them.

Wow. The episode I'm watching now "Charlie X" is a HUGE ripoff of Stranger in a Strange Land. Like enough where Zombie Heinlein should be suing the brains out of Zombie Roddenberry.

bri
