some tard at McAlister's thinks that a caesar salad has italian dressing on it. luckily, it was a to-go order and they put the dressing in a little plastic cup. And I have caesar dressing in my fridge.

except now I'm mad I paid them so that I could make my own caesar salad.

At least the chicken tortilla soup is awesome.

You know, they're showing these really odd commercials on TV up here lately.

They feature underage girls being pressured into sex by older boyfriends and refusing. Then they invariably get dumped.

I think they're trying to promote the idea of abstaining because any guy who'd pressure you is a dick, but it's like they're confirming every insecure girl's fear-that if they DON'T give it up, they're getting dumped.

Just a really odd choice of scripts, I guess.

"Be Kind Rewind"
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend's (Mos Def) store. In order to keep the store's one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Back to the Future, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop , putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.

why for?

Actually, I like the full version of that pic better. The version posted here loses points for not having Leia out in front wailing on the mic.

As for my week, well, it's just been a cacaphony of suck. Work is horrid due to the 1-2 punch of our busy season ramping up and our new boss being a terrible supervisor on top of being just an epic c*nt. So work exhaustion and stress bled over into my personal life and I kind of quasi-f*cked up a pretty good thing I had going, even though I think I've overcome that from a long-run standpoint. But as a result of my f*cktardery, my weekend that is usually spent with my lady friend is instead being spent not with her, save for the TU game we're going to tomorrow. And tonight I thought I was going to have a nice end of week blowoff at a friend's housewarming party, but she lives in f*ckin' Broken Arrow and so it took me a goddammed hour to find the dump.

So, hey, how's everyone else?

ok, so here's the background. I need 2 more hours of upper-division any kind of class to fulfill my final degree requirements. I enrolled in a graduate-level class...and my advisor insisted that they'd only count up through 4000-level classes and a 5000-level class wouldn't work.

So I checked with the graduate college...they told me my advisor was wrong. So I sent her this email:

I just spoke with people in the Graduate College and they said I should be able to apply a 5000-level course to my undergraduate degree without any paperwork as long as I’m not trying to also get Graduate credit for it. So I’m just trying to check about that again, because I really think the 5000-level class I’m enrolled in for next semester should fulfill my upper division requirement.
that was last monday. there were some other enrollment issues going on that I didn't think could wait, so I emailed the Dean and explained the situation. He emailed me back confirming that I COULD get upper-division credit for the class. that was tuesday morning.

Just now, I recieved an email from my advisor:

5000-level courses do not count toward upper division undergraduate level course requirements; however, I will check with the proper sources come Monday morning. Please do not hesitate to call me if you need anything else.
omg, tard.

I sent the following response:

I corresponded with [the Dean] last week and he gave the following explanation:
“…You are eligible and welcome to use courses at the graduate ("5000" level) to satisfy undergraduate degree requirements. The caveat to this situation is that you may not use the graduate course to count toward a future graduate degree. Once the hours are used to satisfy an undergraduate degree requirement, the course is not eligible for future OU Graduate College use. As long as you are aware of this situation and do not have a problem with the added expense (graduate vs. undergraduate) of the course, the College has no problem with you taking a graduate-level music course to satisfy Gaylord College (and OU) degree requirements.”
:les:PWNED!

(I had to resist the urge to end the email with that)

I had to fight tooth and nail a couple years ago because first they didn't want to take my zoology class as fulfilling a gen ed requirement, and then they wanted me to take business math courses (I had calc 1 and calc 2 for science majors). This was in colorado though. I had to bypass and go to the Dean to get it all approved, especially since the department head was only working 1 day a week and didn't bother respodning to some of my e-mails until after the graduation deadline.
