Frozen Sooner

OK, so here's the list of things Mike did today:

Woke up around 9:30. Considered going to the gym. Didn't.

10:00. Checked bank account for wire transfer I was expecting from my broker. Got it.

10:30, went to old job at credit union and paid off my credit card, then closed it. Started talking to one of my former employees who's married to the GM of the Mercedes dealership here in town. She mentions that he wanted to talk to me about something.

10:45, exit interview with old job. Everything seems cool.

11:30, go down to MB. GM tells me that he can cut me an insider deal on a new C300 4Matic Sport. We talk and dicker for a while. I agree in principle to buy the car, which is now on a boat from L.A.

2:00 Go to Costco thinking that I'm beating the PFD crowd, as the direct deposit hits tomorrow morning. Every man, woman, and child in the state gets $1,632 stuck in there account, then loses their damn mind. Forget that there's a significant portion of the population that thinks it's OK to write checks as long as you KNOW the money will be there before the check. Stand in line for 45 minutes.

4:30. Get home. Pay off the rest of my credit cards. I have little little cash. Start having some buyer's remorse on the new car.

But hey, I've got one of these coming:

I never understood the paper that had to have a minimum of words or pages.

Why don't they assign papers that have to cover a certain amount of information? If you can do that in 3 pages why should you have to use filler and bullcrap to fill up the other pages?

proud gonzo
10/3/2007, 02:36 PM
4788 now.

Unless those didn't count.those didn't count. and neither do these.

It's not a paper that has to be so many words... we have to have 50,000 words of a novel written by December 4th, so this is our first milestone. We have to have the first 12,500 done by midnight. It's different when you're doing a paper or something, but in this case the page/word guideline is rather important.

I'm at 8029 words now--4471 to go!

ah yes, the infamous Edward George Bulwer-Lytton...

"It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents--except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness."

The fact that I missed two days of work with stress-related illness plus the fact that it's 11:21 on a Friday night and I'm still at the office would point towards "fail".
