every year we get upset by an inferior team.
Pellini really came up with a gameplan this week.

The zone defense idea is worthless when the DB's are playing their zone more than they are playing a receiver. If the opposing offense sends out 4 or 5 receivers against the same number of DB's and our safeties are guarding a 10 yard circle of air then there will be an open receiver.
They need to find a receiver and stick to them instead of giving them five to ten yards of cushion.

Maybe they should try man to man then? I'm completely puzzled as to why we are covering so poorly this year.

Man to man Chijoke with safety help and zone everybody else.

I have to say that our secondary is looking pretty bad right now. I know it's a tough place to play, but come on, Pollini needs to pull his head out and start calling a better defense. We are giving A&M all day to do what they want. And the secondary is playing like girls.

Why couldn't Mike Stoops have hired Pelini and we get Marky?

We're getting out-coached in every phase of the game today. And the defense looks pathetic as well. PATHETIC!!!

we score to take the lead and the back up starts eating up our secondary. Truly pathetic
and btw we took the redshirt off of Walker.
It used to be running QBs that gave our D fits, now it's a guy who can find the wide open receivers and get the ball to them. Pressure up front would help, and they looked a little better in the 2nd half. Not great or even good, but better than the first half.

Let me guess, this was after the A$M game, standing at 9-0. Things still not good enough?

To be fair... the defense was very frustrating that year. We had a couple of things by the names of Mark Clayton, Mark Bradley, AD and Jason White (among others) that bailed us out time and time again that year.
I blacked out after we beat Colorado, but I've heard our defense had another stinker shortly after.

LSU's looked pretty bad on defense the past 3 games. Here's hoping Beaux turns it around.

That's okay because we already know LSU sucks!

maybe we just need more pro-bowl DTs...

It would help. Beaux especially loves rushing 4 and dropping 7, which is great when you have Tommie Harris and Dusty D on your D-line. (Or Spears, Hill, and Lavalais)
