Which specific sooner play do you think of when I say the following:

The Pick
The Kick
The Hit
The Catch
The Play
The Run
The Pass
The Fumble

And finally, which play most exemplifies the term "Sooner Magic" to you?

Just a quick edit over a year later to add:

The Drive

Just a little curious. With over 700 wins under our belts and thousands and thousands of plays we've all witnessed, which stand out the most?

that game was nerve racking, and was much closer than the score

Torrance Marshall's INT return for a TD has to be up there with the Sooner Magic plays

the Superman play was amazing, but it iced the game, it didn't change it

Even worse, it WAS a call! An "out of bounds" call! Aaarrrgh!

That is the only call I can remember that completely determined the outcome of a game.

There really isn't a reason to vote on The Call, because that one has to be it.

The Pick: Torrence Marshall's int v. TAMU.

The Kick: the onsdie kick v. osu that richocheted off the osu player the week after Marcus dupree quit and allowed OU to kick the game winning FG

The Hit: Scott Hill's hit on Tony Dorsett

The Catch:Keith Jackson's one handed catch v. Nebraska that kept the winning drive alive in 86 or 87.

The Play:The half back option pass to Shepherd v. Nebraska in 76(I think)

The Run:Joe Washington's run with lessthan 5 minutes to go v. Missouri in 1975.

The Pass: Josh Huepel's pass to Woolfolk on a crossing pattern late in the 2000 Big 12 championship game v.KSU

The Fumble:Chris Weinke's fumble in the 2001 Orange Bowl caused by Rocky and recovered by Roy.

Sooner Magic was in full force when JC watts drove the Sooners the length of the field v. FSU in the 81 Orange Bowl then completed the pass to Steve Rhodes and then followed that up with a 2 point conversion pass to Forrest Valora. There are several other plays that could qualify in this category .

Although the Von Schamann kick easily trumps it, I was too young to remember it, so to me, the kick is Scott Blanton's game winner versus Syracuse in 1994. I listened to that one on the radio at work, and to hear Bob Barry call it, I thought it was no good up until the point that he said that it was. The phone rang just afterward, and I answered it, and somebody was whooping and hollering about it on the other end. He hung up without ever telling me who he was.

The Pick - Torrance vs. eAtMe in 2000.

The Kick - VonSchamann vs. The Ohio State University in '77.

The Hit - Scotty Hill's human torpedo of Tony Dorsett against Pittsburgh in '75.

The Catch - Albert Hall's miracle sideline catch to set-up Scott Blanton's game-winning field goal in the Carrier Dome against Syracuse in '94.

The Play - Roy Williams vs. Texas at the goal line in 2001.

The Run - Little Joe Washington going 70 yards on 4th down against Missouri to bring us within a point in '75. His two-point conversion won it 28-27.

The Pass - I quote Don Criqui at the '86 Orange Bowl against Penn State:

"Jackson has it! The All-American tight end is going in, and Oklahoma takes the lead on a 71-yard touchdown play!"
The Fumble - Billy putting the ball on the cold turf only three yards from paydirt against Nebraska in '78.

Sooner Magic - Keith Jackson's one-handed catch and scamper against a Nebraska team dressed in solid scarlet red in '86. It's still one of the greatest catches I've ever seen, and the fact that he had the instinct to get out of bounds made it all the more special.

The Win that Stands Out - Nebraska in 2000. We were finally back, when it appeared just three hours earlier that we were still a long way from being back with them jumping out to a 14-0 lead. That was a great day. Our programs were like two ships passing in the night.

Luckily, it was theirs that was headed for an iceberg a few years down the road.

Ok, here's what I had:
The Pick: Torrance
The Kick: Uwe
The Hit: Ontei Jones vs. FSU in the Orange Bowl (pick one)
The Catch: K. Jackson vs. Nebraska
The Play: TRRW in TRRW (The Red River War)
The Run: (Ask me after Peterson leaves)
The Pass: Gotta go with Huepel backpedaling and unloading against the Nebraska Blitz.
The Fumble: The fumble that Nebraska took back for a TD in the fourth quarter to avoid a shutout in 85

Sooner Magic: Either "The Pick" or "The Catch"

He caught the ball two feet from the sideline and stayed on the sideline until he was
knocked out of bounds with a blow to his thigh. There was no instinct to get OB, just knocked out........great catch though.

Great thread idea!

The pick - Keith Stansberry vs. Texas in 1984. It WAS a pick.
The kick - Uwe.
The hit - Brian Bosworth against Texas QB (Brett Stafford I believe) in 1985.
The catch - I have two. One I will reserve for Sooner magic. So this would have to be Andre Woolfolk on his back against Nebraska in 2000.
The play - Hook and lateral against Nebraska in 1976. Dean Blevins to Steve Rhodes to Elvis Peacock.
The run - So, so many. I'll go with Joe Washington's 4th down home run against Mizzou in 1975.
The pass - Jamelle Holieway to Keith Jackson in the Penn State Orange Bowl
The fumble - Billie Sims against Nebraska in 1978.
Sooner Magic - Holieway to Jackson against Nebraska in 1986. "They're doing it to us again!"
