Oklahoma came in at No. 5 in the season's first College Football Playoff rankings, the highest of any team in the Big 12. Ohio State (7-1, 5-0 Big Ten), which lost to the Sooners (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) in September, was ranked No. 6. The rest of the top-5 is No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Notre Dame
