I was a bit shocked to see this, LINK (https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/reports--baylor-fires-coach-art-briles-154936095.html) I knew they had fired the President Ken Star. Apparently, Briles will be the only one let go.

Briles may also be the only person from the staff fired as well.

We understand the entire #Baylor coaching staff is staying on.

ESPN reporting that Starr has been "transitioned" to Chancellor and AD has been placed on probation.

I wonder if they'll come after Montgomery at TU.

More worried that they might come after Riley...

I don't think the problem is that Baylor hire a political operative and an ethically challenged head coach. I think they hired the wrong political operative president and ethically challenged head coach. Therefore I would propose Baylor replace them with Karl Rove and Bobby Petrino.

Riley would be stupid to take that job right now. BU is cancer at the moment.

They are done. We won't be seeing much of the resident Baylor fan in the future.

I agree completely...but, I've seen ambition and ego cause some stupid
decisions. Riley clearly wants to be HC, his Air Raid O is outstanding and
Baylor has athletes, albeit, tainted now. My belief is that Riley wants to
coach a Heisman winner and Baker is certainly a contender. That happens
and Riley will be two and done at OU with a juicy contract at a good school.
Bennett is going to be interim at Baylor for this year...they do okay and
he loses the interim tag.

I would not be surprised to see them go after a high scoring offense guy... but knowing that the NCAA is not going let Baylor off scot-free should mean that coaches, even assistants, should consider Baylor a step down from their current jobs, unless they're mid-major assistants.

Philip Montgomery should stay at TU. He can follow the guy that follows Art Briles, but never, ever follow the "legend" at any program (or USC will stop the bus on the way back home from a loss and not let you back on after you're fired lol).

Lincoln Riley should only leave OU OC for a Power 5 HC job, unless forced out.

Baylor will have to overpay to get anyone that doesn't have ties to the program (and pities them). That automatically will make them a target of the less desirable candidates, which is exactly what they don't need right now.

Can we kick them out of the Big 12, please? I'd be happy to replace them with another Texas school if that makes the other Texans happy.

Another shoe drops. In addition to the #9 rated TE decommit, 4star RB Kameron Martin from the 2016 BU class is saying he won't enroll next week and is requesting release from his LOI. Unless Baylor gets sanctions very quickly to force it, I don't see why they would have to release Martin. But from a PR point of view, it would be a horrible move to deny it right now.

By only getting rid of Briles, Baylor has proved that their #1 priority is still winning football games. I don't think he was the only one involved in these cover ups.
