Former Tulsa defensive end Derrick Alexander laughed when asked what Thibodeaux was like off the field.

“We have a good relationship,” Alexander said. “We’d sit there and talk. He’d challenge me to see how many sacks I could get in a game and then he’d remind me that he was once the Big 12 sack leader.”
