The last week of training is always the worst for Donald Cerrone. It’s the dragging-on of it all, the waiting. For a guy who once fought six times in less than a year, the idea of sitting around and waiting for a fight is unnerving. So he occupies himself like any martial artist should, catching matinee showings of "Enter the Dragon," starring Bruce Lee, in between training sessions. The fan favorite will face Alex Oliveira in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card in Pittsburgh on Sunday. Just weeks ago, Cerrone found himself in his very first UFC title fight against lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. Cerrone lost the fight at 1:06 of the first round*– just his fourth UFC loss in 19 fights. It was his first with UFC gold on the line, and it admittedly stung. “Yeah, that night sucked,” Cerrone admitted to Yahoo Sports. “Sure, you can dwell on it, and be pissed off. But you just choke it up, get back on, and do it again.” Cerrone, 32, is infamous for his no-frills approach to fighting, and lack of excuse making. And the loss to dos Anjos highlights these traits perfectly. He prefers fighting as often as possible, but Cerrone had to wait almost seven months before his fight with dos Anjos. Yet, despite this fact, and the fact Cerrone chose to not use an IV to rehydrate even with an official exemption – “I just didn’t want anyone to say I’m cheating., so, [expletive] it” – he's not offering many excuses for his disappointing performance.
