Radio is truly a gift that keeps on delivering laughs long after you think grounds for derision are exhausted.

Ok we discussing this at the Hideout.
When and How did the nickname Radio get stuck on him?

So far as I know, the nickname is a reference to the movie character of the same nickname; the mentally 'slow' equipment manager of a fictional football team. When VY's pitiful wonderlic (sp?) score became public, along with his nearly incomprehensible babble, it became cruel fun to explain his life difficulties by assuming a medical condition rather than just garden variety stupidity.
Although the latter explanation has been more than adequately proven, the nickname stuck.
Life is not fair.

More to the story:

Young to keep job at Texas after drunken driving arrest

AP - Sports

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- The University of Texas said Tuesday that former NFL and Longhorns quarterback Vince Young will keep his job after his drunken driving arrest.
Young was arrested late Sunday and police said his speech was mumbled and slurred. He later issued an apology on his Facebook account.
Young, 32, led Texas to the national championship in the 2005 season and played six seasons in the NFL. He was hired by Texas in 2014 to promote diversity and community engagement. He is paid about $100,000 per year.
Texas spokesman Gary Susswein said Young ''will continue to be an employee'' of the school, which is working with him to address the issues related to his arrest.

Funniest quote: "We all know he should have been a great NFL QB if he'd gone to another team."

I mean, the comedy writes itself on hornfans.com.
