Barry J. Sanders has confirmed to The Oklahoman that he’s been granted a release from his Stanford scholarship. That release would allow him to transfer to any other FBS football program not in the Pac-12.

The son of former OSU Heisman-winning running back Barry Sanders also confirmed to the paper that he is very amenable to a move to Stillwater.

He grew up an OSU fan (understandably) and if he didn't qualify academically for Stanford that's probably where he would have gone. He's played sparingly during his time there, so I hope he got his Stanford degree out of the experience.

It's gotta be difficult being the son (and namesake) of one of the all time greats. Michael Jordan, Jr. probably feels the same way.
