First TCU's OC, Sonny Cumbie turned them down and believe it, the whorns wanted Cumbie . . . bad.
Yesterday it was reported that Tulsa OC, Sterlin Gilbert was going to be their new OC.
Oops! Those reports were a bit premature.
So with all the money in the world to throw at these guys for the second-best job in college football (assuming the sa*et head coach job is the best), how come the whorns are all dressed up but can't get a date to the prom?
Perhaps it has to do with no one believing Charlie Strong will last beyond 2016 and so hot assistant coaches who can pretty much write their own ticket are unwilling to take a job, even in Austin, that will probably evaporate after one season.
