If Clemson, Bama, and Iowa all win, 3 of OUs last 4 bowl opponents will be in the playoffs.

Another thing (looking waaaay ahead), if we do win it all this year, next year's OOC would feature the previous 2 NC winners. That would be pretty cool, on top of the already cool having 2 all-time powers OU and tOSU facing off.

One has to wonder if there isn't some sort of Illuminati type stuff going on here...

I forget, was it Houston or Louisiana-Monroe that won the NC?

*sigh*

"feature a matchup between the previous 2 NC winners"

It's not really ambiguous since neither of those teams actually did win an NC. But there you go.

Iowa? Oh yeah, 2011, the forgotten season for me. After returning from the RG3 show in Waco my brain went dead for the remainder I think.

I went and looked up Griffin's "off the charts" stats.

Griffin's season stats were QB rating (192.3) and threw 36TD's vs. 6 Int's and rushing 644 yards and 9 TD's.

Comparatively,
Mayfield's similar stats are QB rating (178.9) and threw 35TD's vs. 5 Int's and rushing with 420 yards and 7 TD's.

That bowl game against Iowa was the first time I'd seen *2* teams act like they didn't want to be there. OU clearly disappointed after a promising season going south at the end. Normally, all teams get fired up to beat OU, but Iowa had some internal team issues and had just kicked some key players off the team - they also didn't give a rats a.ss. That game was a huge yawner.
