I know, I'm sure it would have been posted if official, but any word?

From what I read at soonersports, interviews post-game it SEEMS he'll be good. Both Stoops and several players said he seemed fine then complained of headache at half, so they kept him out. No doubt he got his bell rung but hopefully not too bad.

DOOMED!

lol...didn't say we were doomed, just curious.

LR said the 2nd half woes were on him...he got conservative. Unfortunately it wasn't LR that was throwing the ball. TK is a great team guy I'm sure, but if you think we don't drop off offensively without Mayfield then don't know what to tell ya...except we do.

I'll bet Stoops will keep BM's status under wraps for as long as he can - not that TK will keep M.Gundy up at night. I'll bet some word will leak out about who is getting reps in practice this week.

funny you mentioned reps...I think Shepard said TK gets just about as many at Baker...quote from soonersports "quotes from game" section. Now who knows "just about as many means" but from comments during the game most folks thought he got very little.

I don't know, but Riley's already said he's absolutely going with Knight if Mayfield can't. I have no hope of a successful game if that comes to pass. Then again, the only reason I would have more hope with Thomas is that he didn't personally put up such a disappointing game. But looking at the bigger picture from Thomas' games last year, I see no reason to think it would make much difference.

If TK really has been getting equal reps, we're doomed if he has to start. But I don't believe for a second that he has gotten equal reps, there just isn't enough practice time to do that.

If TK starts... I believe he'll bring a 'bama game.

Call it a gut feeling.

Doesn't matter though. Baker's fine and the LosuRS will be preparing for him, all week.

He will play, but he was also limping around even before "the hit" = we win a close one...because of Perine and the defense.

He will not play = we lose by double digits because Practice Squad Manziel is a terrible quarterback who caught lightning in a bottle one night against Alabama in a bowl game.

And then there is Perine's ankle too. You gotta think that ankle swelled up big after that game. I think we need all our stars playing and at least at 90% to win this one. Mayfield, Perine and Shepard. Mixon would help too as he seemed to be seeing the field against TCU and could help preserve Perine. OSU lives and dies with the medium and long pass - our D needs to make them pay for that with an INT or 2.

OU needs three Sanchezes! He was awesome Saturday! Kicking game needs to be better. But with an east-west field who knows? OU has played in bad weather already, and OSU has not, and Saturday the weather is supposed to be awful! Just keep the ball!!

Wrong again TDTW!!!

#1 Baker is starting. His brain could be oozing out his ears and he will still start

#2 Cody would start if Baker can't go. If you think TK listed as #2 has been anything more than a reward for the SB win then you don't know squat about this program. My sources have all told me Cody beat Baker out in fall camp but are scratching their heads as to why Baker was named the starter.

I really like Cody Thomas. I re-watched last year's game against Texas Tech (I know they aren't much), and Cody looked really good. He is a BIG kid, and taller than Mayfield and Knight. He also will run!

You misread the post. It was 2 different prediction: the outcome if Mayfield start and the outcome if he doesn't. It was not a prediction on if he plays.

It's not up to Mayfield or Stoops on whether he starts (at least not the possible concussion thing). But if the reports are correct, he passed the first concussion test yesterday.

I don't see Cody starting if Mayfield cannot. He has probably gotten few snaps in practice the year. I hope we don't find out.

you really believe that Stoops would declare Bake the starter IF they believed CT won the job? wow. I believe Stoops to be "loyalists" which would mean TK would have been starter. He owed Baker nothing. NOt saying CT isn't good but Stoops is in charge of a multi million dollar business, after last year's performance and replacing coaches there is NO WAY he doesn't go with the best guy.

Unless your source is BS or LR I'd doubt that.

As far as CT starting Sat if Baker can't go...I doubt that as well. LR has basically said TK's performance was based on HIS (LR) diverting away from game plan, not TK's issue. He emphatically said this much. We shall see though.

Stoops just said he's passed all the tests so far in the weekly PC

I didn't misread I was just looking for an opportunity to get TDTW stirred up. If he truly is a fan of the program he wouldn't talk so negatively about the coaches and players.

Baker sounded good at the PC and said he felt great. Of course he's a tough guy and going to say that but it's looking good for Saturday!

You need not look very hard - TDTW is stirred up the minute he rolls out of bed in the morning.

Not a true fan? That point is hard to prove if he really has bought season tickets for 21 years in row. Money meet mouth. He does come across as hard to please, but that's his problem of how to enjoy all those season ticket purchases while the coaches do everything wrong :sneakiness:

Riley already said TK was absolutely the guy if Bake can't shake.

I think Mayfield's performance this year should allow them to stop scratching their heads finally. Pretty obvious who the best (by *far*) QB on campus is.

Are you on meth?Did his mentioning that Baker's brain could be oozing and yet he will still play have anything to do with your assessment?

Told you all, he was fine.

Headache.

College football is so paranoid about injuries these days. Especially the head/neck variety. Soon as they showed that replay, I knew they wouldn't leave him alone. Then you have the sideline reporter trying to drum up drama... "Baker's been on the sideline the whole time, shaking his head, holding his ears..." Yet the entire time, she's saying this... they have a camera on him. He's sitting on the bench. Just sitting there. Then he adjusts his head band, and leans back... sitting there.

Not shaking his head, acting like he wasn't all there, etc. They did it several times, with the same nitwit sideline reporter, talking about injuries. According to her, they supposedly benched Mixon to, after having him "stand up on a bench" (which they showed on camera and he looked fine doing it)... and then we see him the next series of downs.

Perine's ankle is what worries me. They have been very hush hush and you could tell that TD run hurt. The trainer noted it to, when he was off to the sidelines and she mimicked his one legged dance into the EZ. Any of us that have sprained an ankle know... its the day AFTER, you find out how bad it really is.

I'll say that the fact that your guess is correct is coincidental. But to be fair, if you were wrong it would be coincidental too.

I for one, never said BM had a concussion. I just said he must have exhibited at least one of the on-field symptoms, or he would not have been forced to sit. (Precautionary means *mandatory* precautionary - not up to Stoops). I also said that whether he had a concussion according to the protocol was unknown - which it was when I posted it. I wasn't guessing or hoping - just waiting for the real data which is coming out now.

Yes, college football is paranoid about injuries and for good reason. You would like the think it is because they care about the future well being of the players. But they also know there is danger looking ahead that lawsuits could actually outlaw the game which is now multi-billion dollar industry. Just wait until that Will Smith "Concussion" movie gets released and see the public response.
