Houston is as bad as Austin these days. Difference: Austin has white liberals, Houston has immigrant liberals. I wouldn't give a frozen duck fart for either of 'em.

At least there were enough voters who didn't want Bruce Jenner in the bathroom with their daughters and wives. The immigrants may excuse queer, but they don't excuse the "I have a penis, but I'm a woman" bit.

It's just a way to get the rubes all fired up and get their educated vote out for a minor election. Kind of smaller version of the 2004 "referendum on marriage" that used homophobia to get out the vote.
